About the Author
David Fairman art photographer and film director established and respected in London and Los Angeles.
David’s recent film work has recently been described by one US critic as “Worthy of Fellini” .
David began his career as an advertising and art photographer and ran his own London photography studio for over 20 years. He has handled high profile accounts for major advertisers including BRITISH AIRWAYS, LEVER BROTHERS, BT, CITROEN CARS, ROVER CARS, AND EMIRATE AIRLINES. He is renowned for his bold graphic innovative style, a trademark which has led to his photographs being exhibited in major galleries and sold as prints and posters around the world. To date, David's prints have sold over 55,000 copies worldwide. David studied film and photography at Ravensbourne and Medway Art Colleges. He has also studied Lee Strasberg method acting at the Actors Centre in London and attended ‘Directing Actors’ at the Judith Weston Workshops in Los Angeles.
He has exhibited his work widely throughout the world and also published a series of photographic prints. Notable exhibitions include; “ Blue Skies Ahead” One Man Show at The Neal Street Gallery 1980, “Gauguin Lives on Tahiti” One man show at The Hamilton's Gallery London, 1985, “Beside Gauguin” at the Gauguin Museum, Tahiti, “Twelve Prominent Photographers” at the Royal Photographic Society, Bath and “The Splendours of Egypt” One Man show at the Art Connoiseurs Gallery, London. His Poster ""Boy with Cows"" was voted as one of the best 100 advertising posters of all time.
In 1989 David Joined Picture Palace Productions to direct TV Commercials, leading to his new career in Feature film production. He has directed five feature films with his film 'Carmen’s Kiss' being selected and shown on the BBC to celebrate International Women’s Day.
